Technical Product Owner - Networks

In this role, you will be a key player in driving the strategic roadmap the organisations network services. You’ll work hand-in-hand with Product Management and engage with the organisation and its essential partners, ensuring that the network solutions meet the evolving needs of our users. Your expertise in stakeholder management will be crucial as you lead the charge in overseeing the outsourced vendor relationships, making sure we achieve optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.


Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:


Shape Our Network Roadmap:

You’ll take ownership of developing and maintaining the product roadmap for the network services, ensuring it aligns closely with the organisation’s strategic objectives. You’ll turn high-level goals into clear, actionable product increments that keep the projects on time and aligned with stakeholder expectations.

Connect with Stakeholders:

As the face of the network services, you’ll establish strong relationships with internal teams and external customers. You’ll dive deep into understanding their needs, ensuring that their success metrics are front and center in our efforts. Regular updates on our product vision and challenges will be part of your DNA as you keep everyone in the loop.


Manage Vendor Partnerships:


Your experience with outsourced network service providers will shine here. You’ll proactively manage these relationships, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure that we receive high-quality service. When challenges arise, you’ll escalate them effectively to protect the business interests.

Deliver Technical Leadership:

You’ll engage directly with architecture, engineering, and Technical Services teams to ensure that our network solutions comply with technical standards and security requirements. Your understanding of network technologies, such as LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and network security, will guide your decision-making and help you drive innovation within the infrastructure.

Foster Continuous Improvement:

You’ll analyze performance metrics and gather feedback from stakeholders to discover opportunities for improvement. By promoting Agile methodologies and encouraging iterative delivery, you’ll help our teams achieve faster outcomes and adapt to changes fluidly.

Oversee Compliance and Risk Management:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for identifying, tracking, and managing risks associated with the organisations network services. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure we remain compliant with organizational policies and data privacy regulations, preparing us for audits and assessments while securing our network environment.

What You Bring to the Table:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field, or the equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a Product Owner, Product Management, or similar role, specifically focused on networking or infrastructure.
• Proven success in managing outsourced vendors, navigating complex stakeholder ecosystems, and driving alignment across diverse teams.
• Deep familiarity with network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and network security), and comfort with Agile or Scrum methodologies using tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build partnerships and influence without direct authority.
• Strong analytical thinking abilities that allow you to turn complex technical details into meaningful business outcomes.
• Adaptability and a proactive mindset, comfortable with the dynamics of a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift.
