About the Role:


Evnex is seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager to lead the finance operations in Christchurch. Reporting to the Australia-based CFO, this is a high-impact role with broad scope—ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, values-led environment.
You’ll take ownership of day-to-day finance while playing a key role in strategic projects and decision-making as we continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
  • Provide timely, insightful reporting to the CFO, CEO, and Board
  • Support strategic decision-making through robust analysis
  • Manage and improve financial systems and processes
  • Mentor and develop a small accounting team
  • Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and core financial operations
  • Lead audit processes and relationships with Big 4 advisors
  • Maintain strong banking relationships
  • Support key commercial and growth-focused projects


About You:
 
  • CA qualification (or equivalent),
  •   Background in a Big 4 firm is an advantage
  • Proficiency with financial systems and a tech-savvy approach
  • Commercial mindset—you understand how finance enables performance
  • Experience in a growth business or fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative, proactive, and confident working with senior leadership
  • Strong communication skills and an interest in clean tech or sustainability
