About the Role:


Reporting to the National Sales Manager and managing a team of 10 across the head office and field Endeavour are looking for a Foodstuffs Business Manager to drive sales and margin growth across owned and agency brands in New Zealand. This role is pivotal in managing key national accounts, developing strong business partnerships, and executing strategic initiatives. You will lead national buying reviews, optimize promotional planning, and ensure increased ranging and distribution at both head office and store levels.
This is a key leadership position within Endeavour and will be crucial to the growth ambitions for the business.


Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans aligning with Endeavour Consumer Health and Foodstuffs’ strategies.
  • Drive sales and margin growth while managing trade spend within budget.
  • Lead central buying reviews and negotiations with key stakeholders.
  • Manage promotional cycles, including planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Present and secure ranging of new product developments (NPDs) in category reviews.
  • Utilize customer data to craft compelling sales stories and drive business influence.
  • Collaborate with Territory Managers and the field team to ensure seamless in-store execution.
  • Align processes between Foodstuffs North Island (FSNI) and Foodstuffs South Island (FSSI) for operational efficiency.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate direct reports, including Junior Key Account Managers and Territory Managers.

About You:


To succeed in this role, you will be a strategic and results-driven professional with a strong background in key account management within the FMCG or related industry. You will bring:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 5+ years of key account management / sales experience in FMCG.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience navigating financial challenges.
  • Proven ability to create and execute strategic account plans.
  • Expertise in category management, data analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Experience leading promotional planning and trade spend management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail.
  • A customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering results.
