About the Role:
This is a standalone position within the team, where you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with New Zealand Customs and Excise regulations by accurately reporting and lodging duty payments. You will be the expert in this field, determining and maintaining accurate excise rate data in the system including monitoring changes in excise duty rates and updating the system accordingly.
- Prepare and submit duty lodgements for imported goods in compliance with New Zealand Customs and Excise regulations.
- Report and lodge excise duty for wine sold in the domestic New Zealand market.
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions to regulatory authorities, minimising compliance risks.
- Reconcile internal system reports with distributor reports to ensure accuracy in excise duty calculations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system data and distributor records.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare month end cash flow numbers for Customs & Excise.
- Complete MDM checks to ensure that third party declarations are appropriately in line with sales price.
- Support validation of entries made by business in JDE with original documents

About You:
You will probably already be working in a similar role ideally within FMCG or manufacturing would be advantageous. However, we are also open to other backgrounds. You’ll be a confident communicator who is prepared to challenge areas of concern to ensure accurate reporting. This is a great role for someone to join the team and make a difference.
