About the Company:
This client is a long-established kiwi business with a rich family history, operating in a niche market across both NZ and AU. They occupy a large warehousing site in East Tamaki, which they use for both their own product, as well as offering 3PL storage solutions to a handful of customers.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director, this accountant role requires close collaboration with their Chinese based tax accounting and ensuring transparent tax and VAT refund processes through diligent reconciliation and cooperation.
The role also involves detailed analysis of cost of goods sold to improve profitability as well as assisting with preparing year-end statutory accounts and audit schedules as needed.
About You:
Due to working directly with their Chinese operations, you will be:
- Fluent in Mandarin (both written and verbal).
- Tertiary qualified in Finance or Accounting.
- CA, CPA, ACCA or qualified by experience.
- Experienced in financial accounting, business processes and business systems.
- An effective relationship builder with the ability to work with all levels of the organisation.
- Proactive in the ability to solve problems with proven experience identifying, developing and executing improvements to system and process deficiencies.
Prior experience working in an import/export businesses or working with businesses with Chinese operations would be highly advantageous.
