About the Company:
A leading organisation within the public sector is seeking a Management Accountant to join their Cost Recovery Directorate within the Corporate Services business unit. The Cost Recovery Directorate plays a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining cost recovery strategies and policies that align with industry best practices, ensuring transparency and compliance with relevant legislation.
About the Role:
As a Management Accountant, you will take ownership of maintaining clear and effective charging practices, ensuring they are up-to-date, transparent, and easily understood by key stakeholders, including Ministers, fee payers, and internal teams. You will actively contribute to the review and enhancement of our client’s cost recovery processes, providing expert advice and analysis to support decision-making and legislative amendments when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modelling & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to support cost recovery, conducting data analysis to understand the costs incurred across the organisation.
- Policy & Strategy: Provide expert advice on cost recovery and ensure that models and practices are aligned with commercial best practices and comply with Treasury and Audit Office guidance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure cost recovery policies are well understood and continuously improved.
- Performance Reporting: Develop routine reports on the performance of cost-recovered services, ensuring that stakeholders have access to accurate, timely information.
- Operational Support: Work closely with Finance and business groups to identify cost-related risks, evaluate business operations, and recommend when charging reviews are needed.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost recovery, financial modelling, or related areas such as costing and regulatory compliance. You will have a strong analytical and commercial mindset, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for decision-making.
