About the Role:
The Systems Accountant's primary role is to manage, support, and enhance financial accounting systems, ensuring the Finance Directorate meets its objectives. This includes maintaining the accuracy and reliability of financial information and ensuring the integrity of key financial applications. This involves collaborating with system users, managing vendor relationships, improving reporting and analysis tools, and providing training to ensure effective system use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and specialist advice for financial accounting and HRMIS/Payroll systems, ensuring smooth operation and integration of future systems.
- Develop and maintain accounting structures, internal controls, and reporting frameworks to meet user needs and compliance standards.
- Enhance financial reporting and analysis tools to improve information accessibility and decision-making.
- Ensure financial system integrity through rigorous design, testing, and risk mitigation while maintaining high availability for users.
- Educate teams on expense management processes, monitor compliance, and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Support and train internal customers on financial systems to enable effective management of financial information and payment approvals.
About You:
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant with 2+ years of post-qualification experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- Background in financial systems accounting, including system implementations and knowledge of databases and accounting standards.
- Experience with TechnologyOne (FMIS) Ci or Ci Anywhere; familiarity with ETL, XLOne, Power BI, and Crystal Reports.
- Proficiency in writing ad hoc SQL reports/queries and experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, test script creation, and functional testing.
