Consultant / Senior Consultant

About the Company:

Polis Consulting Group, based in Auckland and Wellington, brings world class strategy and public policy experts together to focus on the most complex challenges of our time both within the public and private sectors.

Polis personnel have operated at the top of their fields. Polis is often at the intersection of public and private spheres and use insight, strategy and practical solutions for impact and advantage for their clients.

Polis’ approach is data-driven and uses intellectual horsepower to drive real-world insights. While any project’s final recommendations incorporate judgement and experience, consultant recommendations are always strongly informed by numbers.

About the Role:

As a Consultant/Senior Consultant based in Auckland, you will be working with commercially oriented companies to solve important business challenges.  A project typically includes one or more of strategic, organisational, economic, social, or environmental issues. From day one, Consultants are expected to take significant responsibility for delivering parts of projects.

Consultants provide both thought leadership at the conceptual level and analytical horsepower at the granular level. They play a role in client leadership and management, occasionally guiding client managers through unfamiliar and high-stakes territory. Consultants are sometimes supported by Analysts and/or client team members, but more often would have sole charge of their module without the responsibility of overseeing others’ work.

About You:

Polis Consultants are:

  • Articulate at communicating at all levels of an organisation.
  • Numerate, competent with Excel and the basics of microeconomics.
  • Able to alternate between big picture and detail, as well as between conceptual and practical implications.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, are curious and proactive.
  • Display resilience and are life-long learners.

This is a great role for someone already working in the likes of Transactional Services within the Big 4 due to their exposure to business strategy and commercial due diligence.   Other backgrounds will be considered but the minimum expectation is that you have prior consulting experience and can display strong financial capabilities.

Whilst the ideal candidate will be in Auckland, candidates with relevant experience elsewhere will be considered.
