As the Senior Head of Department - People Partnering and Wellbeing you will be working closely with a highly inspiring, Chief People Officer, and a fabulous wider Talent and Culture team.  You will lead your team to ensure they execute the Wētā FX people strategy that will continue to create an environment that attracts and retains top talent, while also managing people risk. This team have extremely high aspirations, they want to make a positive impact across Wētā FX, so they need you onboard to ensure this happens.

You will lead a diverse team which includes HR Partners, Recruiters, and Health, Safety & Wellbeing specialists. This is a broad leadership role where you will thrive if you like to be constantly challenged. Some of your exciting key areas of focus will be:

  • Developing and overseeing the implementation of Wētā FX’s wellbeing strategy, in line with the people plan, and ensuring there is a safe workplace experience for all
  • Developing a business partnering mindset within all areas of the People Partnering team to encourage active engagement with leaders to create trusted relationships
  • Developing and implementing talent attraction strategies
  • Creating and supporting workforce planning and engagement strategies
  • Leading change management efforts to support organisational change
  • Supporting leaders in setting performance expectations as well as managing complex or high-risk crew/employee matters
To be effective in this role you will:
  • Be an experienced HR leader with broad generalist experience across HR and Health, Safety & Wellbeing
  • Have a solid understanding of employment legislation (Wētā FX has a global workforce spanning across NZ, AU, Canada, and the US)
  • Have experience leading and managing significant change programs
  • Demonstrate senior stakeholder management experience.  You’ll need to work with, and coach, senior executive stakeholders on complex people issues
