About the Organisation:
Burnett Foundation Aotearoa, originally known as the New Zealand AIDS Foundation (NZAF), has been at the forefront of Aotearoa's HIV response for nearly four decades. Its origins trace back to the early 1980s when courageous volunteers initiated grassroots efforts to raise awareness about AIDS and provide support to those affected in the rainbow and takatāpui community.
In June 2022, to honour Bruce Burnett's legacy and reflect the evolving landscape of HIV in Aotearoa, the organisation rebranded as Burnett Foundation Aotearoa. This change signifies a commitment to continue the vital work initiated by its founders while adapting to contemporary challenges in HIV prevention and lifelong support.
Today the organisation has some $8m in funding, 45FTEs and with partner organisations provides a significant support and advocacy role to Aotearoa’s 172,000 people identifying themselves as part of the rainbow and takatāpui community.
About the Role:
The Chief Executive role is essential to ensuring that BFA continues to lead the fight against HIV and its associated challenges whilst supporting the lifelong hauora of the rainbow and takatāpui community.
This role provides visionary leadership and strategic oversight to advance the Foundation’s mission, while cultivating a culture of inclusion, innovation, and partnership.
The Chief Executive will develop the partner framework of the Foundation, adeptly manage change transformation and be also focus on the capability-building of the organisation. The Chief Executive will also ensure that the Foundation remains financially resilient, operationally effective, and socially impactful.
