About the Role:
As Chairperson, you will lead a small, high-performing board of experts in their field. Your strategic leadership will guide the board and executive team in delivering their vision to reach full potential as a global business.
Your responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and governance leadership.
- Guide the company through its global growth journey.
- Support the CEO and executive team with high standards and operational excellence.
- Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CEO.
Growth and Expansion:
- Help this company navigate to the next phase of growth, from $20M to $100M in revenue.
- Leverage experience in scaling businesses to drive revenue growth.
- Provide insights and strategies to help the company expand its market presence and enter new geographies.
- Identify and advise on key opportunities for growth, partnerships, and market expansion.
Governance:
- Lead the Board of Directors, ensuring effective governance, strategic oversight, and good decision-making.
- Facilitate open and constructive communication among board members and between the board and executive team.
- Ensure the Board functions effectively and efficiently, with clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Represent the company to key stakeholders, including investors, partners and clients.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Advocate for the company's vision and values in public and private forums, enhancing the company’s reputation and influence.
Risk Management:
- Oversee risk management strategies, ensuring the company is prepared to address challenges and capitalise on opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and corporate governance best practices.
- Guide the development and implementation of policies and procedures to mitigate risks and enhance organisational resilience.
About You:
We are looking for someone who
• Has experience as Chairperson for a technology business.
• Is based in Auckland and can attend in-person board meetings.
• Demonstrates governance leadership and operational excellence.
• Has experience with global growth strategies and a proven track record of helping companies grow to $100M+ in revenue.
• Acts as a trusted advisor, supporting the CEO with strategic insights.
• Possesses diverse skills and solid financial and commercial knowledge.
• Is a strategic, creative, and critical thinker.
• Shows passion, optimism, and commitment to a growing a business.
• Ideally, has knowledge and interest in B2B SaaS, digital marketplaces and/or the building and construction industry.
