We are delighted to share that Nick Davies is the new COO of King’s College.
Established in 1896, King’s boasts a proud heritage. While deeply rooted in tradition and recognized for their history of excellence, they remain focused on the future. Their mission is to empower students to carve out their own paths in today’s modern, multicultural world, with the lasting support of King’s extensive student and alumni community.
Nick will be joining the talented leadership team helping turn the vision into a reality.
“The College is very excited about this new role. Nick will be a great addition to the team at King’s as we aspire to continue the legacy for innovation and sustainability.” Simon Lamb, Head of King’s.
The College is overseen by a Board of Governors who bear responsibility for protecting the vision of the school. Shan Wilson, the Chair of the Board, commented:
“The King’s College Board of Governors has introduced this new senior role as it recognises the growing complexity of operating the business side of an independent school. The Board values the CFO experience Nick has had, as well as the multi-discipline areas he has led in past roles. Referees also spoke of Nick’s strength in people leadership and strategic, solution focused thinking – which were key attributes the Board was looking for in a COO. We feel Nick will be an excellent fit with the College’s staff and community and so look forward to welcoming Nick in the school gates.”
Nick is a seasoned executive with experience across sectors like Early Childhood Education (ECE), healthcare, retail, and energy, both in New Zealand and internationally. Formerly CFO at Busy Bees Aotearoa, he excels in implementing systems, optimizing operations, and driving growth.
“I am delighted to be joining King's College. The opportunity to be part of such a well-respected institution, known for its excellence, tradition, and focus on the best all-round education, was a key factor in my decision. I’m excited about the chance to contribute to strategic initiatives and support the College’s mission. I look forward to engaging with the team to make a positive impact and being part of a community dedicated to nurturing the potential of young people.” he said.
This search was conducted by David Ziebart, Tribe Leadership’s Executive Search Head, in collaboration with King’s College & the Board of Governors.
