We consider that total remuneration should seek to link remuneration and achievement of strategic outcomes, and seek to retain and motivate the Chief Executive. Guiding principles for setting total remuneration:
- Be clearly aligned with organisation values, culture and strategy
- Support the retention and engagement of the Chief Executive
- Be understood by the Board and Chief Executive
- Be equitable and flexible
- Appropriately reflect market conditions and organisational context
- Recognise performance and competency providing reward for achieving high performance
