Mō te Pakihi | About the Organisation:

Te Māngai Pāho is the Crown entity responsible for funding media and content to promote Māori language and culture.  Their aim is to whakanui i te reo Māori and Māori culture so that te reo Māori and tikanga Māori are spoken, heard, seen and valued. In July this year, Te Māngai Pāho celebrated 30 years of te reo Māori creativity, innovation and excellence in the Māori broadcasting sector.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role: 

The Kaitūhono Te Whiringa will work closely with the Hautū Te Whiringa (Funding Manager) and Te Hua Waihanga (Content Team) to support the kaupapa of Māori language revitalisation by ensuring that all funding commitments are properly contracted, monitored, and managed. You will maintain a high standard of contract administration and milestone management, working with those receiving funding to ensure smooth transitions from funding commitments to project completion, balancing support, oversight, and accountability to facilitate successful outcomes in te reo Māori content.

This is a full time, permanent role based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.


Mōu | About You: 

Your confidence in te ao Māori and proficiency in te reo Māori, supports you to engage effectively with Māori content creators and platforms. You are skilled in relationship and contract management and have a proactive approach to problem-solving and support. Your experience or education will include legal knowledge/training and/or negotiation which will increase your ability to navigate funding agreements and to provide advice. Alongside this, you’ll have experience dealing with numbers/budgets for the review of production cost reports and ensuring appropriate cashflow are set within milestones. 

Understanding or experience in content production and/or funding management and reporting is desirable.
